Floyd Presnall Barnard (1897-1987) was a musician, composer, music instructor and band leader. He taught and conducted band at Roosevelt High School and Jefferson Junior High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He composed many pieces of music for band and orchestra, including an instructional band book, The Introduction to Musical Knowledge. He also played string bass in the Symphony Orchestra from 1922-1924. In 1940, Barnard married Margaret Westerberger, a musical instructor for the MacPhail School.
